Initial Brass Preparation Guide
During manufacturing, tumbling, and shipping, case mouths can occasionally become slightly out-of-round. Follow these simple steps prior to your initial load:

Expand & Round Neck: Lightly lubricate the inner neck and pass the case through a sizing die to allow the expander ball to gently restore perfect mouth roundness.

Chamfer & Deburr: Lightly trim the inner and outer edge of the case mouth with a deburring tool to facilitate smooth bullet seating without scraping bullet jackets.

Note on Annealing: Discoloration on the neck and shoulder is evidence of Lapua’s factory annealing process—a heat treatment that maximizes neck pliability and prevents splitting. Do not polish this off.
